Starting and maintaining a small business in the healthcare field is an exciting and challenging enterprise.  Healthcare professionals tend to think of ourselves first and foremost in terms of our chosen specialty but we are also entrepreneurs. Psychotherapists in private practice frequently struggle with a sense of self worth when marketing their skills, setting fees and establishing business policies.  Dr. Carolyn Stack coaches and mentors private practitioners who are opening practices or wanting to improve their current business and marketing skill sets. Psychotherapists and others in the healing professions can benefit from a fresh look at their business practices, a psychological understanding of the things that prevent them from moving forward, improving organizational skills and broadening ideas about marketing based on their strengths and community needs. Carolyn offers an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a business plan and she suggests an outline of tasks and a plan of how to accomplish them.

Dr. Stack leads an ongoing psychodynamic therapy group for licensed psychotherapists.  Most practicing therapists have been in individual treatment but may not have experienced the benefits of working through relationship styles directly with a group of their peers.
